Spring SportsMCS offers a variety of athletic opportunities during the Spring, including the annual BCSA Golf Tournament and track and baseball, depending on student availability. Golf The 2008 golf team, coached again by Mr. Mike Hixson, placed 2nd overall at the BCSA Golf Tournament held at Royal American Golf Course. Individually, Thomas and Dan placed second and third respectively. Looking back at the tournament, Cheryl said, "Being the only girl, not just from our school, but from all the schools, it was funny seeing the boys' faces when I walked up with our team..., so it was funny when I ended up beating about half of them." The team this year was made up of Seniors Thomas, Ryan, and Dan, Junior Cheryl, and Freshman Lee. Baseball Thanks to the coaching of Mr. Wickman and Mr. Dunn, MCS was able to field quite a successful baseball team in 2008. With Michael's great pitching and good defense and hitting, the team was able to win a number of its games and even finish third in the end-of-season tournament after losing to the eventual champions.
Lake County Captains 5K Race A number of students and faculty participated in the Captains 5K race at the Lake County Captains Stadium in Eastlake. Coming in first place for their respective age groups were Mrs. Seitz and senior Thomas. Second-place winners were Mr. Houck, freshman Lee, and 6th-grader John. Mr. Joel Davis, senior Elizabeth, and 8th-graders Hailey and Dan also finished third.
